The emphasis of the program is to create a high-fun environment where children can develop their basic physical movement capabilities and soccer-related skills while learning to cooperate with others by enhancing their listening and following direction skills. During this six-week program, our goal is to create a fun and safe environment where children can come to socialize and play. Each player will be assigned a team and coach. The group will meet each Monday for 45 minutes and of that time the players will have 20 minutes of instructional activities and play 25 minutes.

This 8-week program is an introduction to soccer in a friendly and non-competitive environment.  The program creates an enjoyable environment for players to develop their basic soccer skills and understanding of the game.  Dribbling, shooting and movement education, such as jumping, turning and balancing are incorporated into each soccer activity.
At this age group, coed teams continue to be formed and are led by a volunteer head coach (typically a team parent) that conducts practice with support from City Staff. All coaching material will be provided. The first four weeks will focus on developing the fundamentals. During the last four weeks, players will have 20 minutes of practice and play 40 minutes.

Volunteer as a Coach

We need your help! Our program would not be possible without enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer youth soccer coaches! Here’s your chance to be a driving force behind a child’s love for the game. Never coached before, no worries. All practice plans, broken down in a simple manner, materials and equipment will be provided to you. Ready to make a difference?
